Meet our Principal

Ms Pippa Hogg-Andrews

Principal’s Welcome

I am delighted to be appointed the first Principal of GEMS Twickenham Primary Academy.   Supported by the GEMS Learning Trust, this pioneering free school combines first-class facilities and inspirational teaching, with traditional values, to create excellent academic standards. It is an extraordinary and innovative school. The GEMS school organisation has over 50 years’ experience of running first-class schools all over the world, and we invite your children to join us at the start of our newest school.

Our first group of Reception pupils walked through the doors in September 2015 to begin their exciting educational experience with us. They are nurtured, supported, challenged and always encouraged to question and enquire. We provide a range of opportunities to develop their skills, and their confidence grows in our ‘can do’ atmosphere. Core skills are taught within a creative curriculum, so that art, music and drama - so important in a balanced and enriched curriculum - are valued and taught well. All pupils learn a language and have discrete-thinking skills lessons. Physical education and sport form part of each day. Our pupils belong to a caring community, and they know how to work with others and care for others. We develop social and emotional intelligence to ensure they thrive with us and are prepared for the next stage of their educational journey when they leave us.

The majority of my work as a teacher and a leader has been in this part of London. I have led two successful schools, and my children have attended three local schools. I am very familiar with the area, and I understand parental concerns and aspirations. I will ensure that GEMS Twickenham Primary Academy is firmly rooted in the local community, and that it offers opportunities for parents and carers to contribute to the family atmosphere and to benefit from what we offer. We have no entrance exam, fees or religious membership to gain entry.  All we ask for, is a keen sense of teamwork and a partnership with parents to ensure children are happy and achieving.

I am passionate about delivering enjoyment in education, so that children develop and sustain a life-long love of learning. Laughter and delight will be abundant in our classrooms, corridors and play areas.

A very warm welcome to GEMS Twickenham Primary Academy, and I look forward to meeting you in 2016.

Pippa Hogg-Andrews
